In 2019, the beloved Rock The Boat cruise celebrates almost a decade of rockin’ the high seas. Dubbed as one of the hottest rock cruises in the world, and a favourite with Australian audiences, Rock The Boat 9 boasts an enviable line-up that will get every rock music fan excited. Headlined by the undisputed Queen of Rock herself, Suzi Quatro, the seven-night luxury cruise brings together the best of the best for an unforgettable music festival at sea.

The ninth annual Rock The Boat sets sail in October 2019, featuring over 40 of the greatest rock acts on the touring circuit today, showcasing classic rock from the 70s and 80s. Aboard The Radiance of the Seas cruise liner, Rock The Boat will dock in ports such as Noumea and Isle of Pines, and is jam-packed with live entertainment, from concerts daily to immersive onboard experiences. Rock music fans can revel in the fun of theme nights, air-guitar wars, lip-sync battle, and get up-close-and-personal with the musicians at the artist signings. There is also the Sexiest Man Alive Competition and the ship’s biggest conga line, plus the infamous Schooner Bar Sessions.

With international festival favourite Suzi Quatro headlining, audiences are in for a treat indeed. Joining the 2019 line-up are also Aussie legends The Angels, whose songs have become an indelible part of the Australian music psyche. Audiences will delight in performances by The Sweet, John Paul Young & the Allstar Band, Glenn Shorrock and Brian Cadd, MI-SEX, and Chocolate Starfish to name a few. There are also special shows paying homage to legends of the 1970s and 1980s rock music scene with Ziggy – The Songs of David Bowie and the Best of The Bee Gees.

In a special coup, the 2019 special guest for the cruise is none other than Countdown Aficionado Molly Meldrum. Other artists part of the highly anticipated cruise includes ACCA DACCA, Steve Balbi, Dai Pritchard, Blues Brothers Rebooted, The Mason Rack Band, New Romantics, Ben Waters (UK) and The Rod Stewart Show, plus many more. This is a rockin’ holiday from start to finish – the moment cruisegoers step aboard the ship they are in for an unforgettable rock experience.

For organisers – Choose Your Cruise, who are behind other great cruising festivals such as Cruise N Groove, Cruisin’ Country and BRAVO – heading towards a decade of sailing, the focus behind the 2019 line-up was to embrace the greats, including those who have been an integral part of the cruise group over the years. Choose Your Cruise’s Caitlin Manov says they wanted to invite back some of the fan-favourites from previous cruises such as The Sweet and Brian Cadd who performed on board Rock the Boat 2014, along with Cruise N Groove favourites John Paul Young and Glenn Shorrock.

“When these artists are set to perform together, it goes without saying we knew it was a must to have Molly Meldrum on board again, who also joined us as a special guest on 2014’s Rock the Boat,” she says. “Following our second Rock The Boat out of the UK in 2017, Suzi Quatro rocked the house down, so we wanted to bring her incredible live show to our Australian audiences who were unable to join us last year. Each Rock The Boat heroes a different aspect of ROCK music, whether it be the swinging sixties which we portrayed in 2016, or Australian rock featuring Jimmy Barnes in 2013 and 2015. 2019’s cruise is a celebration of rock superstars of the 80’s in Australia and overseas, and to be joined by over 30 acts who encompass such a historic period in music is something we are very proud of.”

Rock The Boat not only includes seven nights luxury accommodation and all port charges, but all meals and entertainment is included in the package price. Each different Rock The Boat cruise offers a once in a lifetime experience to see the artists in this intimate atmosphere. So, get your rock horns out, your party shoes on and join Rock The Boat 9 for the ultimate rock music experience.
