The sold-out RED HOT SUMMER TOUR show at Kiama Showground, scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday 18th March, has been postponed due to extreme weather conditions. Promoters made the call to postpone due to the safety of patrons attending the event. The show has been rescheduled to Sunday 9th April 2017, with the same line-up – John Farnham, James Reyne, Daryl Braithwaite, Shannon Noll and Taxiride – and same performance times.
The tour promoter, Duane McDonald from Regional Touring, working on advice from Police, Emergency Services and Safety Officers says that it is too dangerous to undertake the planned show tomorrow. “The region has experienced 150ml of rain in the last 24 hours and there is a further 75ml – 100ml and strong winds anticipated for tomorrow,” he says. “The safety of our patrons, staff and artists is paramount, and with the high rainfall and strong winds, it is not a safe environment to hold the outdoor show as planned. We have been in close contact with emergency services, the police and our engineers, and have had to make the call to postpone the event. With roads being cut, more extreme weather forecast and the local destruction, it is too unsafe to continue. We are disappointed that it will not go ahead as planned tomorrow, but we are not cancelling. We have organised a rescheduled date with the same line up for Sunday 9th April.”
Tickets will be automatically transferred to the new date on April 9. Any ticketholders who are unable to attend the new date will need to return their tickets to the point of purchase by 5pm, Friday 24th March for a full refund.
